NBA Member Spotlight: Concetta's Closet

Concetta's Closet, a vintage clothing and accessories boutique located at 106 Main Street in Newmarket, opened in late September of 2010. The shop has a wide variety of vintage clothing,

Concetta's Closetranging from the early 1900's to the 1980's. Owner Dana Hanson has always had a great love for vintage clothing.

In 2008, Dana relocated to New Hampshire from New York City for her husband's work. Having difficulty finding an online media job, Dana started selling off her own personal vintage collection through Etsy, an online e-commerce website featuring handmade and vintage items. With this success in the online world, Dana decided to branch out by opening Concetta's Closet, currently New Hampshire's only all-vintage boutique.

Dana is often asked where she gets the vintage she sells. "There are tons of places I score my vintage finds." Dana says. "Most often, it comes from estate sales or auctions, but I've recently been lucky enough to have people come to the shop to sell me their vintage, and it's great!" Dana travels quite extensively around New England, and sometimes further, looking for vintage finds. The thrill of the hunt keeps her going.

Concetta's Closet"I've had such a warm welcome from the residents and business owners here in Newmarket, and I truly love every minute of being a part of this community," says Dana. She plans to have many special events and workshops at the store this year, and with the upcoming prom and wedding season, Dana plans to bring in a trove of dresses for both occasions.

Concetta's Closet offers a wide variety of vintage clothing and accessories in every price range. Currently, Dana is finding that 1950's and 1960's dresses and separates are her best sellers, which she attributes to the popularity of the show, "Mad Men" (set in the 1960's). "From the frugal college student to the avid collector," says Dana, "there's something at Concetta's Closet for everyone!"
